Cheers to the Day Zero Project!

Has anyone heard of the Day Zero Project? Basically, you make a list of 101 things you want to accomplish in the next 1,001 days. I just started my list and wanted to share a few items on it with you:

5. See NYC at Christmastime.

23. Run a 5K with my dad.

34. Create a scrapbook to remember every goal I accomplish.

45. Bake cookies with no recipe to follow.

62. Attend my high school 5 year reunion.

I'll post some more in the future! Since I still have 30 spots left on my list, what do you recommend I add? What you would put on your list?

Here's to the next 2.75 years of life. May it be filled with everything you imagined!

Cheers to Haircuts!

I'm getting my haircut this afternoon and I have no idea what I am going to do to do. My hair currently looks like this (see photo above- me at the Newseum in DC a few weeks ago!). Should I add highlights? Should I cut it short? Should I just get a trim? For whatever reason, I am extremely reluctant to change my hair today but I know I want it cut before I go back to college. I'll post a picture of my hair tomorrow so show you what I decided upon!

To short, long, blonde, brunette, wavy, straight, and everything in between!

Cheers to Flirty Fitness!

Yesterday evening my friend Stephanie and I trudged through the snow storm to try out our LivingSocial deal. During the summer, we bought pole dancing fitness classes to learn how to pole dance with the best of them. We had NO idea what to expect and wound up having the time of our lives! It was so fun to spin around the pole and get in touch with my sexier side. May I recommend everyone find time to try a pole dancing class in the near future? It's well worth it.

May we always find reasons to be sexy.

Cheers to Formal Wear!

Here are all of my lovely housemates dressed up for our sorority formals this year! I was watching The Bachelor last night and thought how beautiful all of the women looked in their flashy and classy dresses. However, all of the beauty of these women was ruined as the ladies began fighting. How many times have we seen the gorgeous, accomplished women of the Real Housewives shows fighting in elegant ball gowns? The incidents caused me to create a new rule to live by: never fight in formal wear. Beauty is ruined with a scowl. I'll be sharing more of my own rules to live in coming weeks!
To never, ever, ever fighting in formal wear!

Cheers to New Beginnings!

As we all know, the new year brings new beginnings and new resolutions. I thought I would share mine with you all!
  1. Stop using the word "like" unncessarily.
  2. Go vegetarian for as long as I can make it (So far I'm up to 5 straight days!)
  3. Run a half marathon.

To a fresh start and a clean slate for everyone!

Cheers to Jazz Pants!

Today as I ran out the door to Sunday spinning class (I'm on a spinning kick lately), I threw on my trusty jazz pants to brave the bike. Ever since my first dance class in high school, I have been addicted to these pants! They are truly the perfect article of clothing for doing anything from working out to heading to the grocery to going shopping. If you are interested in changing up your lounge wear, add a pair of jazz pants to your wardrobe (and might I recommend Capezio as the brand!).

May pretending to be a good dancer be as easy as throwing on a pair of jazz pants.

Cheers to house cleaning!

Since I didn't manage to get myself a job over winter break, my mother has hired me to do lots of spring cleaning around the house (except in January). For the past few days, I have been tidying up one of the closests in our basement, going through old photographs and lots of camping equipment (which is surprising since we never go camping). This morning I found my father's grade school report cards along with letters from his late mother. His 4th grade troubles and the loving words of his mother brightened up a dusty basement.
Here's to spring cleaning (whatever time of year) bringing back family heirlooms and old memories.

Cheers to Belated Christmas Parties!

Every year my friend Stephanie hosts a holiday Christmas party with a grab bag of Christmas presents. The picture above shows me and my friend, Natalia, in holiday costume. This year the party was last night, almost a full ten days after Christmas. The holidays always come and go so quickly that we never take time to appreciate them. Isn't it fun to drag them out as long as possible?

May holiday parties allow us to keep holiday cheer long after the actual celebration has passed.

Cheers to Safe Travels!

I have just returned from taking my younger sister back to college for the second half of her freshman year in North Carolina! I had a blast staying in her dorm room, going outlet shopping, and eating at several local barbque restaurants. As a second semester college senior, I barely remember the struggles and tribulations of adjusting to a new environment. It's nice to reflect on just how far college has taken me.

May eye-opening experiences never be more than a car ride away.
